Garfunkle Family, Saturday, Week 1

Soo, here we meet Simon and family again! Is their update any longer than the Liddells? Yes!
By one picture.
Hey, it still counts!

We start with our two kidlets up early. Simon's painting as usual, while Carey's dreaming of rocket adventures. "Zooooom!"

Amanda: You're an A+ student, Simon. That's why you get to eat at the table with the rest of us.
Seriously, one day I'm going to find out how to make everyone hungry at once so we can have real family meals around here. It's also worth noting EATING BREAKFAST got Amanda enough Cuisine enthusiasm for the card to the secret hobby lot. (Totally doing that for my theme next cycle, whenever it is.)

Role Reversals -- Simon does the adult thing and cleans up the dishes while his parents play red hands. In Amanda's defense, she did need to get her fun up before her job whisked her away.

More study parties! And I think this is a good illustration of why my Sims tend to be boring. While other people consider a productive day at Sims to be "Yay! I got somebody promoted, somebody else fired, him to cheat on his wife, and his wife pregnant -- also zombies," my idea of a productive day at Sims is "Yay! Look at how many skill points my Sims earned!" Hi, I'm Victoria, and I'm addicted to Knowledge Sims.

To break up the monotony, here's a very stinky Sam cleaning up the results of a clogged toilet. (And everybody goes, "Can we get back to watching them skill?")

It's Saturday, which means landlord Alon is putting on a little party for the residents! Sam is -- less than impressed.

He does decide he may as well get in on the action and chats with Kaylynn briefly. "Yeah, I'd love to travel, see the world, buy a real house and put stuff all over the lot just because I can. . . ."

Also, who the hell says no to free pizza?

Alon: And I find the subtle curves in the work of William Wright to be so--
Sam: Look, I'm only listening to this crap because you're my landlord. Mind skipping to the end?

A social butterfly Sam is not, but at least he's a good dad to his kids. He had wants to play with both of them from the moment he woke up.

Carey decides to call up Victor Van Dort and make friends, since God knows these kids need more playmates.
Carey: Yeah, it is kinda sad your movie didn't win the Oscar. But hey, at least it went to a fellow stop-motion film, right?

More skilling! Do you hate me yet?

Carey: I am the Roman general Julius Caesar! I will crush your army!
Simon: Yeah, well, I'm Hannibal from Carthage, and I've got ELEPHANTS.
Kids today. . . .

Simon proposes being pals with Cheshire as Amanda lounges around after a hard day at work. You know, I'd have this group throw a party of some kind, but their apartment is way too small. I think after these families, I'm gonna stick with the traditional house model unless the Sim in question is single.

And as the kids pass out after a busy (hah) day, the parents get their skill on -- Sam due to a want, Amanda so she can get another promotion.
Yes, I know, these updates aren't really all that interesting anymore. I can promise you some little excitement coming up with the Leeches, though. Hold on until then?

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE VICTORIA
I wish kids today knew about Hannibal and Caesar. Mmm, Caesar. Dammit.
Give yourself more credit, I enjoy reading your journal.

I'm pretty sure I wrote this one while thinking of my history class in college. That sort of stuff was cool.
Tanku! It's partly facetious, but I do want to make interesting updates.
