Leech Family, Wednesday, Week 1

Two people go out on the town today, instead of just one! Aren't you excited?
Yeah, yeah, I know, I can't compete against the people with zombie apocalypses and the like. But please take a look anyway?

We open on a family breakfast of toaster pastries. Those things look like pieces of cardboard -- somebody in this family needs to learn how to cook.

Lucy and her violin. It's too bad Music & Dance isn't her OTH, as I have her spend a lot of time on this instrument.

Terrence and Kim discuss birdwatching. Or George McFly's old habit of spying on his future wife from a tree limb over the street. Whichever.

Kim wants to be friends with her neighbors, so she goes around and knocks on their doors. Nobody feels like hanging out, however. :(

Well, nobody except the landlord. Kim, it's advisable to suck up to the person who controls your rent, not to reject them.

I try to mitigate the damage with a conversation, but after this exchange it kind of goes down the toilet.

Skilling time! Terry works on skills appropriate to his Military job while Kim focuses on cooking.

Kim's OTH is Nature, so I send her out to hunt some bugs.

Instead, the bugs decide they'd prefer to hunt her.

Bees. My God.

After finally ditching the swarm, Kim heads back inside. I have her watch a comedy movie so she'll cheer up.

Lucy comes home, and Terrence decides to take her out to the park for the afternoon. This is Burton Park, a lot I designed to take advantage of all the new playground equipment. There's also a basketball court and snack stand.

Lucy tries to play MyShuno with this guy, but apparently I placed it wrong. Everybody who approaches gets a "wall in the way" thoughtbubble. Hmmm.

So instead, it's off to the play tower! She's obviously getting a kick out of that pole.

Such an attentive father.

Darkness falls as Lucy plays. She happens to gain a body skill point doing so, getting a pop-up with the pun "Oh, chute!" as the opener. *shoots the writers at Maxis*

Terrence, meanwhile, scarfs down macadamia nut cookies from the vending machine.

He finally deigns to actually watch his child while Lucy plays on the -- spinny thing. Damn it, I've forgotten what it's called.

Apparently all the playground equipment in the world isn't worth one swing-around interaction. Seriously, all my kids want this at one point or another.

Back at home, Kim's solution to her unfulfilling day is to glug down the "juice." Yeah, I totally believe that blue stuff is juice.

Terrence encourages Lucy to be more Active. I hope he succeeds -- I regret that to give Lucy her proper playful personality, I had to put her at the low end of Lazy.

We end with Kim deciding the best way to play with her daughter is to swing her head dangerously close to the top of a glass table. Sim parents, ladies and gentlemen!
Next time is the Turret boys, and then we'll have completed another cycle. I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats.

Date: 2010-11-11 12:05 am (UTC)Not just Sim parents. Ed does this thing where he holds kids and tosses them in the air. Well, he did this with Kailei (his best friend's stepdaughter) and wound up smacking her head on the ceiling. There is still a dent.
