Leech Family, Saturday, Week 1

And it's time for another update! (I'm trying to complete a cycle before A:MR comes out and I disappear again.) I promised you excitement with Lucy, and -- well, I can't deliver on the excitement I THOUGHT I'd have, but she did do a bit more than the others. So let's get to it!

We start with me indulging Kimberly's love of Nature and sending her out to catch fireflies as Terrence gets ready for work.

Great Success! My Sims have been iffy in their bug-catching skills lately.

Lucy finds these glowing buggies fascinating. I do have her release them right afterward, though. I kinda get depressed when they die. (Yes, I'm looney, you didn't figure this out before?)

Hey, look, it's MORE STUDYING! Aren't you thrilled? Kim's brushing up on Cleaning, for what it's worth.

Fortunately, I remember Sim cannot live by skilling alone, so I have Lucy invite Simon over. Simon asks to bring a friend, and I agree -- said friend turns out to be his brother. As Lucy has a want to be pals with him too, it's all cool.

Carey: Soccer is the best sport! Everybody gets to run around and kick spotted balls!
. . .Look, there's no way that could have come out any better.

Lucy fulfills a much more major want with Simon via joke -- best friendship is a go! Now, they just have to get a little older. . . .

While Lucy and Carey talk airplanes over the last of the leftover mac and cheese, Kimberly is doing a little socializing of her own at the very ill-attended apartment block party. Still, a free drink is a free drink.

Kimberly: Recycling is awesome! We should all do our best to save the earth!
Neil: (I think that's his name, anyway) That would probably be easier if "recycling" the paper didn't mean throwing it into a garbage can in this game.

Simon: So, I hear you're gonna grow up soon?
Lucy: Yeah, but not as soon as the big old user in the sky thought.
Yeah, THAT was supposed to be your excitement for today -- a birthday. Lucy got down to "two days to go until teenagerhood" on her life bar, and I thought that was sufficient to have her grow up. Turns out it's not. ^^; Ah well, next update.

Simon: Hi Mr. Leech! I made best friends with your daughter today!
Terrence: *thinking* Who is this kid and why is he standing in front of my TV?
Terrence really has no cause for complaint, though -- he not only gained a body point on a successful chance card, he also made Drill Instructor.

Awww. If you don't like the kid hugs in this game -- well, I suppose you probably do have a soul, but it's SMALLER THAN NORMAL.

More skilling commences! In my defense, Terrence DOES need some Charisma if he wants another promotion. . .

The adults scarf down banana splits while Lucy is made to study Cooking. IT IS DICKENSIAN, I TELL YOU.

Kimberly's been in the green Aspiration-wise all day, so I have her call up William Van Dort to make friends and fulfill a want. It takes a while, but talking about bags of money finally does the trick.

After that, the Leeches went to bed -- while they were sleeping, the season changed over to winter and snow started falling. So here, have a pretty shot of Inkwell Secundus in the winter to cap things off.
Perhaps not the most gripping update you've ever seen, but hey, at least something happened, right? Let's hope we can say the same for the Turret update when it happens. See you then!
