Garfunkle Family, Monday + Tuesday, Week 1
How about we get away from families in houses and check on one of my first families to enter an apartment? They're a rather unusual bunch -- perhaps you'll like them?
Meet the Garfunkles! A family of redheads, the older son Simon is the one I RP. He's officially known as the flight attendant guy from a pair of Lemon Demon/Too Much Spare Time Animation music videos: I've Got Some Falling To Do and Bad Idea. His little brother Carey is the male half of the duo of Geeks In Love. No, don't ask me what inspired me to play a guy from comedy music videos. Have some vital stats instead:

And this is their apartment building! The apartment that's furnished is theirs -- I have a hack that lets you rent an apartment and keep the furniture. They share their complex with Lilly Do, Kaylynn Spitzig, and Nery Turner. Yes.
The family gets to skilling after an apartment makeover. I sold the TV and two chairs to make room for Carey's baby stuff. Simon has a bed in the bedroom.
There are tea sandwiches for lunch -- custom food I got from MTS. Amanda's OTH is Cuisine, so she'll be doing a lot of the cooking.
A family meal! Simon wanted to make friends, so I had him start with his parents.
Sam already had 8,000 aspiration points on him, so lucky Carey got Smart Milk right away. Amanda's at the Mr. Humble-provided computer looking for a job -- as Sam's the family-oriented one here, I figure she can start work first. She gets lucky and gets a job as a Dishwasher in the Culinary track!
Amanda and Simon both wanted to play, so I tried out this interaction. Nice arm strength, Mandy!
Sam amuses himself in the bathtub. Having extra-Playful Sims is going to be amusing.
More mother-son bonding time. I like this family too -- they're pretty easy to keep happy.
Carey had an ever-so-slightly negative relationship with his older brother, so I decided to fix that with peek-a-boo. Aren't they adorable?
A quick glimpse of some of their neighbors -- the one heading out is Kaylynn, the one coming back is Lilly. Don't think I have a shot of Nery yet.
More skilling while Simon sleeps. Incidentally, I'm now very grateful for the "silence" options on the phone now -- waking up the toddler every time it rings wouldn't be good.
Early Tuesday morning, Carey is potty-trained.
Sam celebrates by bouncing all over the couch.
Hunting fireflies -- this attempt was unsuccessful, but hey, it allowed him to indulge his OTH. (Incidentally, I seem to have a rash of Nature-lovers in this hood.)
While Simon funs up before school, Amanda spends some quality time with her toddler. A bottle of Smart Milk, and he knows how to talk! Just one toddler skill left. . . .
Sam and Mandy share a dance. Or, well, a stiff-armed bob while smiling at each other.
Oh -- apparently Lilly Do works as a burglar. Keep an eye on the valuables, Garfunkles!
After Amanda heads to work, I see Cheshire passing by.
I send Sam out to say hello. He seems unbothered by the fact that he's discussing art with a large, bipedal, talking cat with a permanent grin.
Simon comes home while they chat -- and look, he's brought home a friend!
And, amusingly enough, it's Linda McFly! Acquainting all my characters may be easier than I thought.
They play a game of tag before Linda heads home. Gotta love kids. And gotta love the fact that Sim streets are mysteriously free of traffic most of the time. ;P
Since Carey got a bath before Wednesday morning in this family, we'll leave you on the image of Sam fixing the toilet. You're welcome.
