Garfunkle Family, Tuesday, Week 2
My apologies for this one -- it turned out to be a pretty boring update. One of these days, interesting things will happen with this lot again!

On the other hand, I am giving you a few cute mother-son moments here. Does that count for anything? (Audience: Hell no.)

My desire to get Amanda some skills for her next promotion leads me to try and freeze her ass off playing chess outdoors.

Just your average snowy morning at the Garfunkle's.

Now to freeze Amanda's ass off via painting! Is is horrible that I actually kept her out there for a while in hopes of seeing the "starting to freeze" skin?

Sheesh, you would think the problem of untidy branches would go away in the dead of winter.

More skilling! To be fair, though, I'm coming to the conclusion that Sam ought to get a job, so he could use a couple more skills. Damned if I know what job, though.

You could look a LITTLE happier about having just made Lorraine as a friend, Sam.

Simon comes home with a friend in tow -- Dave McFly! Why not?

Dave: I agree with your assertion that sumo wrestling is awesome, but a weird thing to include in the list of things to talk about in the sports interest.

Nobody likes a braggart, Dave. Besides, as soon as I find an appropriate job for Simon (Gamer or Adventurer), he's going to be matching your performance there.

The awkwardness of most admires tends to be rather cute. And it surprises me how often Sims will do it on their own. (Then again, maybe that's just me and my tendency for "nice" Sims.)

Yes, Carey -- go past the parent who just finished eating cake and is completely free to cheer about things, and go bother the one who's busy earning a Creativity skill point for her job and thus couldn't care less about your accomplishments at the moment.

Still, an A+ is cool beans, so good for you.

Time for awkward indoor jump-roping! I both love and hate this interaction. I love it when I'm the one controlling it, like now, since it's a good way to get Body skill. I hate it when Sims decide to do it themselves, however, since they always tend to do it in the most awkward places ever. (Like in shops.)

Sam and Carey had lots of wants relating to each other (or, at least, family members), so I indulge them with a quick game of catch.

And the shortest round of "swing me around" ev--

Carey: BLARRRGH
O.O Um -- did not know that could happen with this interaction. Ah --

Oh hey Amanda's making friends with Sharlene indoors, let's focus on that for a bit!

And so today's story ends with the adults in bed early and the kids fending for themselves. Then again, given what I know about some Sim parents, this may in fact be a good thing.
And that's that. I should have something at least slightly more interesting for Lucy next time. Fingers crossed?
